For this Atelier lesson, the kids were to create portraits of themselves as how they see themselves now and in the future. It was done in watercolor, and there wasn’t really a strong technique presented that I could define, just a great deal of practice in blending colors.
I think they turned out well. Some vibrant, lovely colors – perfect for self-portraits of healthy, happy, positive kids. What do you think?
(And no, we’re not sure either why Chey has a slight mustache – it isn’t nearly as obvious in person as the camera makes it appear.)
Chris – seriously, this is his section of the living room where his school stuff is, though he changed the colors up a bit. He did a great job with it!
(No, his hair isn’t that flat. When we asked, he reminded us that it could be “as we wished it was”, thus, flat hair, not springy curls… and WAY more books than are on his nearest shelf! And yes, those books DID take him just ask long to painstakingly create as you’re imagining…)
